Bug Description

My Acer TravelMate 630 does not poweroff when shutting down. It does shut down,
in some way powers off but powers on again straight away as if rebooting. Manual
switching off is necessary. This error did not occur with Windows, SuSE 9.0/9.1
pro and Debian woody (for Woody it stopped at the "power off" command after
halting the system).

Here this happens with a self-compiled kernel, but not with the original one. -
Which kernel are you using?

I'm using the standard ubuntu devel.. nothing self-made. Another strange thing
is, that if I close my lid when shutting down, the computer powers off, as it
should. But it doesn't when the lid is open.

Here on my Acer Aspire 1356LMi with 2.6.8.1-4-k7 kernel it doesn't power off
too, indentical to Christoph's problem.
On Suse 9.0/9.1 and mdk 10/10.1 did not happen. I will try closing the lid.

Can someone test with the 2.6.10 kernel available in Hoary?
