mediumblob update fails

Hi, thanks for making spider

we are managing picture content site with spider 2.27
and using mediumblob data type to store those pictures

data insert is fine yet.
but if we try to update the picture,
(by java1.6, tomcat6, jdbc driver 5.1.18, centos 5.6 x86_64 )
after the procedure data size turns to 0byte~8byte
it was ok spider 2.27 but fails under spider 2.28

and it is simple update ddl by jsp
UPDATE tablename SET data(mediumblob) = *** WHERE field = ** AND size = **

if above data is not enough, i will take further research so please contact me
