Bug Description

I have been able to reproduce this bug three out of three times in the last ten minutes. Using the function keys that change the laptop screen brightness (basically F4 and F5 without the 'Fn' key), to continuously change the brightness (i.e. holding the keys down continuously), I am able to lock the computer up COMPLETELY. By completely, I mean that the computer responds to no input (Ctrl+Alt+F1 doesn't nothing, mouse doesn't move) and is frozen (e.g music playing on Spotify gets stuck and plays continuous noise).

I can also reproduce this by closing all unessential applications indicators also. (It takes a few more seconds of trying if the indicators are closed).

I don't know any means to ssh into my own machine, so I cannot give you the dmesg log.

I just tried changing the screen brightness through the "Brightness and Lock" application and Ubuntu locked up again.

On second thought, I think this is xorg related.

I'm using xorg version 1:7.6+12ubuntu1

affects: unity (Ubuntu) → xorg (Ubuntu)
