Bug Description

I am guessing that I lost sound after the last kernel update. Everything seemed to be working fine before that. I ran 'ubuntu-bug audio' in the terminal as recommended from https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingSoundProblems

This problem is only affecting my laptop speakers. If I plug my headphones into the headphone jack the sound from my headphones is fine.

I also added the audio PPA and ran updates but it did not make any difference: ppa:ubuntu-audio-dev/ppa

I suspect that after I ran the kernel update the driver that was being used for my speakers changed. Unfortunately I don't know what driver was being used before and I don't know how to change drivers on Ubuntu anyways.
