Bug Description
Affected version: 6.1.1
When importing fields of type 'reference' from csv, if the field data is invalid (as generated by the exporter, but that's another problem), the error message given is not helpful:
"need more than 1 value to unpack"
The attached patch adds a useful error message, including the field value that is failing validation.

I don't believe this is a duplicate. It's *related*, sure, but this bug is about the poor error message when invalid data is provided. #994996 is about the exporter producing invalid data.
