Okay, then if possible let's symlink those icons to the proper ones in the theme. Or update our Notify-OSD patch to make them pull those from the icon theme.

The directory structure of /usr/share/notify-osd/icons looks like it's intended to emulate the /usr/share/icons/ directory structure. Odd.

The icons we want them to end up using are in /usr/share/icons/elementary/status/symbolic/

Ah, I think I figured out the proper way to fix this. The notify-osd-icons package is what provides the icons. We should make a new one that is symlinked to the proper icons in the elementary theme, or make our own package that includes the icons themselves.

Try copying or symlinking the folder to notify-osd's icon folder. I suspect notify-osd doesn't support symbolic icons though.

In the course of fixing this bug for elementary I ported the chameleonic revert patch to work with newer os-patches but encountered new errors after that. Once the os-patch branch builds with this patch we can swap out the icons and close this bug.

It seeems we won't have to patch anything, we just have to add a folder called "elementary" in /usr/share/notify-osd/icons/ and place our icons there in a layout similar to the already existing "gnome" and "hicolor" folders there.

I have attached a branch that installs an elementary theme to the desired location. It needs someone to replace my placeholder text files with the proper icons then this bug can be closed.
