random mp3 files get renamed

random mp3 files get their song title, album and artist information renamed, mostly renames a lot of mp3 files all the same.

It seems this bug is a duplicate of bug #996150 (Rhythmbox writes wrong ID3 tags when multiple files are changed)

Could you test if this bug exist in new rhythmbox 2.97 version?
You can install rhythmbox 2.97-1ubuntu1~precise1 from official gnome3-team repository ( ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3 ), see

There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running apport-collect <bug #> and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.
