From log:

Setting up postfix (2.9.1-5) ...

Postfix configuration was not changed. If you need to make changes, edit
/etc/postfix/main.cf (and others) as needed. To view Postfix configuration
values, see postconf(1).

After modifying main.cf, be sure to run '/etc/init.d/postfix reload'.

Running newaliases
newaliases: warning: valid_hostname: invalid character 40(decimal): ubunturocks.(null)
newaliases: fatal: file /etc/postfix/main.cf: parameter myhostname: bad parameter value: ubunturocks.(null)
dpkg: error processing postfix (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 75

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.

This looks like a local configuration problem, rather than a bug in Ubuntu. As such, I'm marking this bug as Invalid.

Specifically, your system hostname is set incorrectly, thus making the postfix postinst script fail.

You can find pointers to get help for this sort of problem here: http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community

If you believe that this is really a bug, then you may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem, and then change the bug status back to New.

Thanks!

Changed in postfix (Ubuntu):
status: New → Invalid
