No cover when sending to device (Android 2.1)

Bug Description
After upgrading to 0.8.54 ( and subsequent) upgrades I no longer receive a cover file (.jpg) or a metadata (.opf) file when sending to my nextbook next2 (Android 2.1) device. All I receive is the .epub, even though all these files exist in the library folder. I have tried epub to epub conversion, but it didn't help. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

apport-collect 1014307
we get information with this that we need to handle the report.

After this set the status of the report back to new.
