I change the cursor with black ones, but it needs probably a soft shadow behind, and big sizes. Hope you like.

In the other hand I think we need to explore other methaphors like these:

Because the cursor can cause some confusions with the real cursor.

Originally we had (our previous file manager) Marlin icon representing the file manager. And the icon referred to by this bug was for nautilus, thunar, etc. But now Marlin is gone. Its icon was pretty but not really useful. So I would agree Files and file managers need a more accurate metaphor. But preferably not involving a spyglass since that is synonymous with search.

How about a stack or row of folders?
I also have these sequence metaphors made for presentation icon but still unused. Maybe they'll fit in.

IMO the file manager needs an icon similar to the old icon from Marlin, but focused on files and folders.
Another option is to use that 'secuence' icon inside a 'square' like Noise, Marlin, Update Manager etc. icons.

shnatsel your icon lacks any reference to folders, I can't really tell what it is.
