Windows stopped responding to mouse

Bug Description

After logging in to the system after suspend or just a locked screen, windows sometimes stop responding to mouse commands. At that point I'm only able to interact with either one window or the launcher, maybe depending on what was active before.

Alt-tab doesn't work, but the Win button opens dash. Keyboard input works in whichever window is active. Restarting lightdm or compiz fixes the issue.

(I have no idea if the bug is in unity or something else.)

Which GPU/Driver do you use? And, which version of Ubuntu are you running, and which version of Unity do you have installed? Thanks!

I'm using the radeon driver and running unity 5.12-0ubuntu1.1. Not the 2D one.

Seems like a Radeon issue. This occurs on one of my laptops with the open source radeon driver, but not with my Intel-based Desktop PC.

Also, this isn't restricted to Unity, this occurs on other desktops too.

I got this again, this time with no part of the screen responding. Restarting compiz with 'compiz --replace' fixed the issue.

Otus, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p xorg <replace-with-bug-number>

Thank you for your understanding.

I no longer have the same hardware. Haven't seen this with new hardware + Ubuntu 13.04.
