Error trying to extract base_archive file

Bug Description

- Installed the daily ppa
- Ran 'glimpse-install-environment'

I'm a linux noob, but I think revision 137 introduced a small problem. After zsync finishes downloading the base archive (ubuntu-core-12.04-core-<architecture>.tar.gz) the file is saved with only the .tar extension and not .tar.gz.

The next step tries to extract (tar -x) the file using with .tar.gz and the script exists with a failure to find the file '/var/cache/glimpse/ubuntu-core-12.04-core-<architecture>.tar.gz'
