Actually this is a KNOWN bug, so yep it's a bug and it's a good one =). Thank you for taking the time to report it and helping to make Ubuntu better. This particular bug is a duplicate of bug #988509, so it is being marked as such.
"samba4" is not ready to being installed in home computers, if you want to access or share your files with Windows machines use the "samba" package instead.
