The new kombu package that was autosynced from Debian now needs python-pika, which implements the AMQP protocol. It is pure python.

Things to watch out for:
  - Very new (not even in testing yet)
  - Tests pass, but are not run during package build.
  - Does not support Python 3.

So that might require some work to make suitable for main.

Setting to incomplete and assigning to server team to at least get the tests sorted out. I'd appreciate some input whether the server team aims at supporting Python 3 (only?) for 12.10; if so, this package needs conversion.

Hi Martin, I can confirm that the server team will not be aggressively aiming to support python 3 for 12.10. Too many of our major upstreams are not focussed on Py3, making it an impossible target. However, we will be trying to py3 support dependencies opportunistically.

Seems fine.

Though note that the previous patch to run tests wasn't working right. It was running zero tests. I uploaded a small fix to actually find the test directories.
