Bug Description

I cannot install the pantheon-print package in Ubuntu 12.04 (precise), every time I attempt to do so I receive an error message implying a conflict with contractor (see below). Removing contractor would result in a long list of elementary applications (dependent on contractor) being removed also.

--{BEGIN ERROR MESSAGE}--

E: /var/cache/apt/archives/pantheon-print_0.1-0~r6+pkg4~precise1_amd64.deb: trying to overwrite '/usr/share/contractor/print.contract', which is also in package contractor 0.2+r8-1~oneiric1

--{END ERROR MESSAGE}--

Ubuntu 12.04 (x86-64)
contractor 0.2+r8-1~oneiric1
pantheon-print 0.1-0~r6+pkg4~precise1

You need a fresh Contractor, version 0.2-0~r12+pkg2 or later.

I noticed the version was a little old, has contractor not been pushed to the elementary daily PPA then?

Well now, that is odd. It is right there in the daily PPA (which I have active) and yet it hasn't upgraded since I upgraded to precise. Oh well, I'll try installing manually and see where that gets me.

Thanks for the assistance. Sorry for the bother. :-$

It gets odder still! Attempting to install the latest version of contractor manually (via gDebi) gives rise to error message claiming that a new version of contractor is already installed. I guess I shall have to remove contractor and all of those packages dependent upon it (pretty much all of elementary) and reinstall. Very odd (and bothersome) indeed. :-|
