on RHEL and CentOS, byobu hardstatus bar colors "bleed"

The color on the lower right quadrant "bleeds" from the leftmost active element to all remaining elements. I have attached a screen shot.

You need to ask your friendly RHEL/CentOS packager to pick up a simple, one-line patch to GNU screen, as described in:
