Bug Description

I encrypted my home partition on a new hard disk with ecrypts when I installed Ubuntu 12.04. When checking out a large subversion repository with lots of branches using git-svn I noticed that the partition filled up much faster than it should. (The partition is 80GB, and it is reported as full by "df" and "baobab" when the git tree reaches approximately 12GB. Running "du -chs" on the git tree makes the free space on the partition drop rapidly until it reaches a more reasonable level. I can reproduce this reliably with this particular (non-public) repository, but have yet to try out others. I was able to do the same checkout with no problems on a non-encrypted but otherwise similar 50GB partition on my previous, now defunct hard disk, which suggests that this may be related to ecryptfs.

same here, just upgraded to 12.04 and now my encrypted home partition grows artificially 'till partition full (few gigs of space left only). using du on my /home or using the disk usage analyzer make the lost gigs come back.
