[Inspiron 1525, SigmaTel STAC9228, Speaker, Internal] Playback problem, ubuntu default login sound not playing

Up until ver 12.04, when I successfully log in, there is an Ubuntu theme played. After installing 12.04, I no longer hear this theme.
