Bug Description
When installing Wine through Ubuntu Software Centre it fails halfway through and i get an error message. Now when ever i try to remove Wine or install other software it says "Item cannot be installed or removed until the package catalogue is repaired. Do you want to repair it now?"
Even when i do click repair nothing works. The only way i can fix it is to remove it via Synaptic Package Manager.
libsound does seem to be the problem and i think i know why. I have an M-Audio 24/96 soundcard and followed a guide i found on a forum that suggested altering the file and using alsa mixer to make it work... it did work but i have not been able to install Wine since. Any idea how to install wine? i really do need it!
thanks
