mint maya cinnamon rc (installed from cinnamon dvd with updates installed as of 5/18/12 9amPDT)

libreoffice (writer) freezes entire desktop session often (session stops responding to mouse clicks and "normal" keyboard characters, though alt-F-keys still work to switch to console).

occurs when libreoffice menus and modal boxes are up; possibly also at other times as well.

may be related to the discussion at http://us.generation-nt.com/answer/cinnamon-desktop-help-207433731.html describing incompatibilities between clutter version and cinnamon?

Update to my earlier post --
Performed in sequence:
 - Installed maya MATE using metapackage
 - Removed maya libreoffice packages
 - Installed libreoffice 3.5.4.1 from libreoffice web site
 - Updated maya RC release via mint package updater 5/22/12 8:30PDT
Libreoffice still freezes as described above during cinnamon session
Libreoffice has not frozen during MATE session

Also affected. Running v3.5.3.2 on 32-bit Ubuntu 12.04 with Cinnamon. Doesn't happen every time I save, but every time it freezes seems to be when saving (not 100% sure though). Feel free to contact me for more info.

I experience the same thing only I see it more with Calc. Usually when I've got menus open or am scrolling through a spreadsheet, the entire desktop freezes except for the mouse. I switch over to the console and kill the cinnamon process. When I switch back, the desktop returns to normal, but with LibreOffice open, it quickly freezes again.

I two have been affected by this. The screen will freeze and the only thing that will move is the mouse. I found this error message in my kernel log.

The kernel dosent freeze as i hit the power button and my laptop shuts down, so i assume this is a libre office error or lib-c?

I have also seen this problem. Haven't been able to reproduce it (yet) since turning off 'Bullets & Numbering' bar in LO, which I disabled because I found the automatic zoom jump that would occur when scrolling through bulleted text to be an annoyance. Not sure if this is related though. My specs: Linux Mint Maya Cinnamon 1.4, LibreOffice 3.5.3.2.

See also http://forum.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=103726 where the moderator suggests the problem may be fixed by installing an upgrade to the kernel.
