Numeric keypad delete key behaviour for Norwegian keyboard does not work

At Keyboard Layout add "Norwegian" keyboard layout.
(This layout has a ',' on the Numeric Delete button)

Change the Keyboard Layout Option - Numeric keypad delete key behavior to 'Legacy key with dot',
(if you now show the keyboard layout, it will show a '.' not a ',' as expected, but if you try to use the button, it will still write a ',' and not a '.' as expected.

I have confirmed this bug on two 12.04 desktops.

PS: this used to work on 11.10, but does not seem to work after I installed 12.04
