Bug Description

Updated system. By accident I added a second Appindicator Applet to the Budgie panel. However, when I tried to remove the second applet I could not do so. On the second try, I was booted off my session and sent back to the login.

For testing, I could add a second instance of a different duplicate applets (User Indicator) and remove the second instance correctly in Solus and Budgie-Remix, so the issue must be with the Applet itself.

This bug was duplicated on both VirtualBox and my Thinkpad T60.

Some additional comments. I had one active third party indicator active, my-weather-indicator, that was active in both instances of the Appindicator. So, deleted the running instance of my-weather-indicator. I then went into Synaptic and removed the my-indicator-indicator. After a reboot there was no change to the problem described above in the bug report.

thanks for this. Suggest need to put in a check to stop another instance of appindicator being added.

That makes sense. So, I looked around and can't find the panel configuration file, was thinking about hacking it to remove the second applet. But, can't seem to find it. Where is it located?

I would do a panel reset:

dconf reset -f /com/solus-project/budgie-panel/

I did a panel reset, now it works. I could arange everythin so it looks like I wanted, just, I had to re-login for the settings-order to take effect in the panel - somehow it was messed up and my icon was put inside the systray panel or right to it, instead of left.

check if making the panel size slightly larger (the default is 39px) fixes your icon issues.
