btnx fails to detect mouse in Fedora 9

Bug Description

I just upgraded from Fedora 6 to Fedora 9, and btnx has stopped working.

When I go into the config tool, it cannot detect my mouse, or any of its buttons any more.

I tried recompiling / reinstalling it, but it made no difference.

Seems to be some incompatibility with all of the new packages in Fedora 9?

More info:

Starting btnx : Button Extension - mouse button rerouter daemon
 btnx: uinput modprobed successfully.
 btnx: Opening config file: /etc/btnx/btnx_config_Default
btnx: No configured mouse handler detected: No such file or directory
btnx: Looped through all configurations. Stopping.
 btnx: Configuration file error.
btnx failed to start (error code 150)

When I launch btnx-config, and go into the mouse detection process, it can't detect any mouse buttons. What other info would you like for debugging purposes?
