Brz fails when a named socket is present in the repo directory

Bug Description

Encountered this error when a socket was present in the repo directory. Running commands with Git works fine, with it ignoring the socket.

> brz status
brz: ERROR: [Errno 102] Operation not supported on socket: b'/[path]/canary-ctrl-socket'
