Bug Description

BCM4313 on Lenovo g780 stopped working on update to 3.5.0-25-generic. falling back to 3.5.0-17-generic fixed

Ubuntu 12.10. Puzzled by lack of wifi, I hunted futiley for kill switches, tried installing a few broadcom packages out there (sta, b43 cutter), without success.

Booting the previous kernel, though, worked fine.

Checking lsmod, I see lib80211, lib80211_crypt, wl... These were not loaded in the more recent kernel.
Also, modprobe wl in most recent claimed it wasn't found.

I bet the kernel headers for the new kernel are not installed.

Please try the following command:
sudo apt-get install linux-generic

then:
sudo dpkg-reconfigure bcmwl-kernel-source

and finally post the output of the following command:
dkms status

Changed in broadcom:
status: New → Incomplete
