Hey Pedro. Thanks for the response.

Yes the disc ejects, it displays the error, and the program crashes. Sorry, I should have been more complete.

I have same problem (I try write mpeg2 video files using video disk project) in Ubuntu 10.10 (maverick). After clicking on "burn..." button brasero silently closes and no any message about "Internal error".

I run it from terminal:

Here's my bug report - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/brasero/+bug/670408

It crashes for both burning CD/DVD's or creating .cue image, both for Video CD and DVD.

Installed cdrdao fix this specific issue for me.

Installing the "cdrdao" package does not fix this problem on Maverick 32bit either.

Same problem here. 32 Bit Ubuntu. Even after installing all missing codecs and plugins - or at least those I could find in the repositories. Even then there are some plugins/paths that brasero is saying it can't find.

I had the exact same bug when copying CD-to-CD I've "applied" the cdrdao fix - by installing the package. Debian's package doesn't depend on it as well. Interesting behaviour ...

Dude take your RTFM attitude from 2003 and shove it up your fucking ass. You're lucky people are using your shit program. Unfortunately, for us programmers, that's how it is. Users are a blessing. Not the other way around. Get out of software.

@alex: I would like to point you toward the Ubuntu code of conduct: http://www.ubuntu.com/community/conduct

Also Pedro is 100% percent correct the error message coming up is not a crash just the program not functioning correctly, It is important to figure out exactly what is happening to properly triage a bug. It appears the original bug reporter was getting an error message on lucid, and everyone else here is getting a crash on maverick, my original thinking was that it was the same bug with slightly different behavior since we were using different versions, but looking back I think the original reporter was having a completely separate bug from everyone else. If they fix this upstream we can find out for sure.

I had crash with Brasero, when attempting to copy a CD, and found the error message by starting Brasero from a terminal:

As suggested, I installed "cdrdao" with Synaptic (default repositories), the issue was then resolved.

My system: Ubuntu 10.10, AMD Phenom X4 9750 Quad Core.
