2009-01-15 08:33:37 SJ description Take a look at the ICDL book overview for a single book, with the exploded view of dozens of pages all micro-thumbnailed into one screen. From there you can pick a page by sight or shape and zoom to it. The same view could work for showing a hundred books by their covers -- this works well when there is imagery and design, which shrinks nicely, and not just text. I'd like this as the default bookshelf view, or at least a significant option -- and with preferences re: how many thumbnails to have in a row, or a way to zoom in and out within this view. Take a look at these book overviews: 1) Delicious Library : http://www.delicious-monster.com/images/librarypage/screenshots/Delicious-Library.png 2) The ICDL book overview for a single book : http://www.childrenslibrary.org/icdl/BookReader?bookid=cropson_00390039&twoPage=false&route=simple_29_0_0_English_0&size=0&fullscreen=false&pnum1=1 This has an exploded view of dozens of pages all micro-thumbnailed into one screen.
