Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-bluetooth

Using Ubuntu Karmic,

I've try to get my Apple wireless keyboard working using the bluetooth applet. I manage to successfully pair the keyboard but typing doesn't work.

Here the set I did :
1- Click the bluetooth applet
2- In the menu select 'Setup a new device...'
3- Click Next and waiting for my keyboard to be scan
4- Select the keyboard in the list
5- Type the pin using the wireless keyboard

Then the pairing is successful, b ut if I type anything with the keyboard, is just doesn't work.

Idd, i am using Gentoo and the applet from gnome-bluetooth-2.28.6. Pairing works, also after reboot. After pairing i can see my bluetooth LED blink whenever i type on the keyboard, but X11 is not receiving or handling any input.

Also present in Lucid when using bluetooth-applet.

However, when using blueman-applet, the device works as expected:

1) kill bluetooth-applet
2) start blueman-applet
3) remove the device from blueman-applet if already paired/trusted
4) pair the device with blueman-applet

udev isn't responsible for driving keyboards, that's between bluez for pairing and setting up the input devices, the kernel for creating the input devices, and X.org for using them (but I don't think that there's anything wrong on the X side).

Changed in udev (Ubuntu):
