Bug Description

I worked on Bilbo (or whatever you call it). I pasted an element. Something went wrong, the entire blog post was erased. I could not get back what was written with "Undo."

I closed Bilbo. I relaunched it, this time there was no article. I could not find my document (I made the automatical local save every 2 minutes and I made it manually some times). I went to ~/.kde cache & app folders also on /tmp and other folders... no existence of the saved locally file !!

This is really unbelievable...

Could you at least make a "Save" and "Save As..." menu entry just like *every other software in the world* so that you can give your user the control of their own data (because obviously you can't make a proper save of data yourself!)

Changed in bilbo:
importance: Undecided → High

I'm really sorry for this problem,

Currently there are 2 ways to save, One is the "Save" button in toolbar, and another one is the auto save function!
You have to use Save button somewhere you think it's good now!
auto save function is force to re-save latest text on exit! So, If you don't like to save on exit(when your data lost), you have to kill app process!

Thanks for report.

I'm sorry too about that,
Would you explain more about what you have done? I mean what you pasted in the editor (image or text) and where you pasted that. more details may help more to find the problem.
Thanks.

I had the same problem today, i got the prewiev screen and get the styles from my blog, than went back to the editor than my work dissappeared.

But the main problem is there is a undo fuction ctrl+z, but why there is not a redo fuction ctrl+y ? And it is immediately needed to put undo and redo buttons to the editor bar.

Mehrdad, I did save my work (CTRL+S) besides the autosave function.
I don't understand why there is not "save" dialog like any other software...

The text I pasted was a simple text without style, in the Editor mode (not html).

Hugo, If you have saved your post with Ctrl+S you can access it from "toolbox->Local entries"
Could you find it there!?

Saving a post locally, saves it in database, And separate from temporary posts!

So, You selected the whole text, then pasted a new text (on whole text)! and then Undo doesn't work. right!?

Gs-Kobzeci, Yes, You're right, A full and good Undo/Redo function is missing now!

Currently if you add something to html editor, that visual editor do not supports it such as "object" tag, You will miss it when back to visual editor.

No Mehrdad, I did not. I just pasted a text at the end of the article and the whole thing disappeared.
Plus, I have just noticed that the toolbox is now empty. there is no "local entries" neither the posts already on the weblog.

I lost my work after insert and image with the same name that other I have insert before. Another time when insert 3 images consecutively.
I use the "save locally" option to minimize this problem but nothing happens and I decided to use allways the submit option the save the work while edit.

I hate to ride in on such an old thread, but I am a newcomer to Blogilo and just lost an article I was working on today. Google brought me here, and this thread looks the most like what happened.

It is frustrating, as I had spent a couple of hours on it, and I *know* I clicked on the Save Locally at least 3 times. I couldn't finish, so I left, came back later, had to shut down the machine, and after I rebooted, I fired up Blogilo, but the only article that was under Local Entries was one I did *yesterday*. I truly do not understand how this can happen, and I have done software development myself many moons ago. It would seem to me that if the database were corrupted, it would have wiped out yesterday's work as well (which is still confusing, as I already have posted the article, so why is is it still in Local Entries?).

At any rate, I am running Ubuntu 13.04 and Blogilo "Version 1.1 Using KDE Development Platform 4.10.3".
