Bug Description
I added the PPA, installed battery-status, then edited my startup applications list to launcher battery status as an indicator in the Unity Panel on Ubuntu 11.04 amd64.
Then the first time I unplugged my AC power cord, the laptop suspend, which I didn't want to happen. What I expected to happen was for the indicator merely to note that the battery was discharging, but otherwise for the laptop to just keep running for 2 hours or so on battery power. When I switched from using the default Gnome power battery indicator to using battery-status, I did not otherwise make any changes to my power config.
So for now I have uninstalled it and resumed using the default battery indicator.
I don't know if it's the fault of the applet / indicator, but it didn't happen before installing this package. Then it happened twice before I uninstalled battery-status.
I've temporarily reinstalled it, and restored the startup launch settings, and logged out and back in of Unity so that I can run the dbus command. The output is as follows:
$ dbus-send --print-reply --system --dest=
method return sender=:1.17 -> dest=:1.49 reply_serial=2
array [
object path "/org/freedeskt
object path "/org/freedeskt
]
I'm not sure where to get traceback or log information, but if you tell me where to find it, I will provide these as well.
PS This is unrelated but I noticed some of the options that show up in the Ubuntu classic mode "applet" do not show up in the Unity "indicator" drop down menu (e.g., the "Show" and "Text Size" sub-menus don't appear in Unity).
If there is some "apport" command I can run for this bug, let me know, and I will run it.
