Bug Description

- Anyway to autoeject media, after scanning a media?
- Anyway to show the description of each media immediately, when I select the media? current way is right click in the volume, and click in "edit volume".
- I can't figure out, how I can search in descriptions (things I type manually).
- I want to search in various items (filename: and directoryname: and location: and metadata:, etc) in a more easy way, like put just one text and select the items in checkboxes.
* I'm using Basenji 0.9.0.0 in Lubuntu 12.04, 32 bit.

I'll try to add this feature to the upcoming 1.0 release.

No direct way yet due to lack of space.

- I can't figure out, how I can search in descriptions (things I type manually).
What do you mean here? You can search in volume descriptions via "description:your_search_phrase"
and in item notes via "note:your_search_phrase".

- I want to search in various items (filename: and directoryname: and location: and metadata:, etc) in a more easy way, like put just one text and select the items in checkboxes.
I designed the search dialog that way because most users are searching for filenames anyway and checkboxes would make the search dialag unnecessarily confusing.

* What I mean here is, if you click in the "magnifying glass" icon, in search window, "description" is not listed as available option. Besides (take in consideration my version) if I put manually "description:my_search_phrase", this don't take any effect, even "no search result", just, nothing happends (maybe for that reason is not listed as available option).

* I said checkboxes like and example, maybe it can be a another kind of thing, or maybe the same "droplist" (in the "magnifying glass" icon, in search window) can be a "droplist with checks", or some settings, or something in a config file, or a button "Show more options".

Thanks!

**I don't want to bother you, but this little details are just what we need. I tried before cdcat, gwhere, gnome catalog, and even we have a custom application (in Qt). All of that with annoying bugs and very unstables. I like Basenji because are very quick, the design allow a fast scanning of thousand of discs, and uses sqlite (so I can apply SQL to my data) and the design of UI is very harmonious. Thanks.**

This is because files don't have a "description" property :-) You can search inside a file's "Note". Volumes have a description property though (the magnifier icon in the main window suggests this keyword).

My time is very limited so it's very unlikely I'll ever change the search dialog, tbh. However, Basenji is open source so nobody would stop you from making it fit your your needs yourself :-)

Btw, in case you didn't know, there's a tool called volume-scanner-daemon (package volumedb-tools) in the daily ppa which can automate and speed up indexing of large collections. The tool monitors a specific drive for media changes and automatically scans inserted media (it also ejects the media already). See http://www.webupd8.org/2010/10/basenji-gets-scanner-daemon-which.html for details.
