Bug Description

Binary package hint: banshee

Banshee does not show album art. My music library has its album art stored in ID3 tags, upon importing my library to Banshee it did not show any album art. I tried setting the album art again using track editor ans selecting 'Choose New Album Art' option, but still I dont see anything. I just see default icons in the lower left cover art area, the track editor and the album grid.

I tried reinstalling banshee from ppa:/banshee-team/banshee-unstable still nothing.

I can confirm on banshee_2.0.0-2ubuntu1_i386.deb.

Impossible to add a cover art with drag and drop from nautilus or with right click and "Choose new cover art".

Changed in banshee (Ubuntu):
status: New → Confirmed

I've constantly had problems with cover art with Banshee.

The thing I've noticed, and more so in v2.0, is that if your album name is null or Unknown Album, you can't add cover art to it. I've had to change a lot of my non album songs to Unknown Album1 to see art.

This is really stupid because I, the user, should be able to use whatever name I want for the album, and still see whatever picture I want.

Yes, confirming flameout.
This strange behaviour prevents Banshee also from showing mp3 integrated cover arts, not only album arts.

I'm a little curious here. Cover art usually refers to the artwork on the cover of the CD case of the album. If a song does not belong to an album, how can it have cover art?

@hyperair

Lot of songs contain a picture directly related to the audio file.
