It would be nice to display the total number of unread messages within the icon (like the telegram app does).

I totally agree that this would be a great feature and to tell you the truth, I cannot believe that it is not included in the basic build. Currently, I a missing or forgetting text messages, as I do not have a Unity notification number, like with Telegram.
