Bug Description

Within Unity, it doesn't show that Tomboy Notes is running (aka the arrow next to it), while the Indicator Applet does.

I have attached a screenshot.

Weird. Appears that BAMF isn't matching the window to the appropriate desktop file.

affects: unity → bamf

Affects me too. This creates an annoying problem: when I click on the tomboy icon in the launcher, unless I already have a note open, it takes a long time to open the notes. In fact it seems that the system is opening a different instance of tomboy (a second icon appears in the panel).

Just an update, this just doesn't affect Tomboy, I am now experiencing the same issue with firefox.

The "running" arrows on the left of launcher tiles are for open windows. Consequently, if an application is running but has no open windows, the launcher will wrongly consider it not running, and will launch a new instance. That’s what is happening with tomboy. The issue with firefox is likely a different one.

Oh joy. Same thing with Chrome too. Opened a new application, even though it already had an open window and it still didn't show that it was running.

the later comments sound as though bamf has crashed, is bamfdaemon running?

Today, I had the same error with it not indicating that Banshee is opened, and instead opened a new instance, while trying to open other applications, it does indicate that they are running.

And yes, bamfdaemon is still running.
