Probably should be .wine/dosdevices/c: but that is the general idea. On Ubuntu Feisty xdg-utils is not installed by default. II agree that an entry in the Places section is better. There is the problem of handling entries for multiple wine homes but this is an edge case that only pops up occasionally.
