Bug Description

With a fresh install of Ubuntu Warty with a UK keyboard I used Terminal Server
Client to connect to UK Windows machine. In Local Resources->Keyboard, I
selected 'uk' from the dropdown and connected with no problems, however the
keyboard mappings were incorrect for my hardware and appeared to be US rather
than UK based. On disconnecting, a dialog box appeared with the following error:

ERROR: Failed to open keymap /usr/share/rdesktop/keymaps/uk

Investigating the directory /usr/share/rdesktop/keymaps showed that there was
little correlation between the keymaps in the this directory and the keymaps
available in the relevant dropdown in Terminal Server Client.

I found the file en-gb in the above directory so I tried connecting again
entering 'en-gb' and this worked perfectly. Note (a) tsclient asks for a '2 char
keycode' and (b) 'en-gb' is not available in the dropdown.

There are quite a lot of keymaps still listed in Dapper's tsclient, but the majority of them don't actually have the corresponding file.

I can confirm that for example the Belgian keymap is 'nl-be' and the list shows the 'be' option. Further the dialog says '2-char keycode' where in fact it's more like language based now

Does this occur in Lucid?

This bug still occurs In Lucid. The locale entries en-gb, fr-be etc. now coexist in the drop-down with the corresponding country entries uk, be etc. The user is still asked for a 2 char keycode in the interface.

Closing this bug as tsclient is no longer in the Ubuntu archives (starting from Oneiric).
The default remote desktop client in Ubuntu is now Remmina.
