Bug Description
Binary package hint: system-cleaner
currently system-cleaner only offers a list of package names without describing what they actually are, you have to look up each description elsewhere to find out what it is/was used for, having a details expander in the gui to read the description would help with that.
SUMMARY FOR SRU: system-cleaner-gtk shows packages, but not their descriptions. Fixed by showing short descriptions (the long descriptions being too long for the UI without large changes).
PATCH: http://
TEST CASE: Install fixed system-cleaner. Do something to make packages show up as cruft. Start system-cleaner-gtk, and click on a package. Verify that the package's short description shows up in the text shown at the bottom of the window.

I have made fixed packages available at
http:// code.liw. fi/ubuntu/ pool/main/ s/system- cleaner/
I would be glad if you could verify that they fix the problem. Unfortunately, I was not able to fit the long package descriptions without larger UI changes than are fit for an SRU, but I hope the short description is sufficient for now.
