Konica Minolta bizhub 164 printer is popular enough in Lithuania (main Baltix distribution market) because of low price, A3 paper format support and lots of features.
I try to contact with Konica Minolta dealers in Lithuania to get a possibility to test Bizhup 164 on Ubuntu and include the information requested at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingPrintingProblems as separate attachments.
Please don't close this bug, because new bug will be filled from another Bizhup 164 printer owner :)

assignee: nobody → Mantas Kriaučiūnas (mantas)

Please check whether the printer understands PCL or PostScript. Try to use the "Generic PostScript printer", "Generic PCL-6/XL printer Foomatic/pxlmono", and the "Generic PCL-5e printer Foomatic/hpijs-pcl5e" as make/model/driver. Please report here which drivers work and which work best.

small printer icon apears on clockbar for a second
doesn't show other messages and doesn't print.

Looks like that this printer only understands an unknown, proprietary protocol. Perhaps the printer works when choosing the Minolta PagePro 1200W, 1250W, or 1300W as model, with Foomatic/min12xxw as driver. Please tell here whether this works.

Doesn't work.

Maybe I will start to learn programing and write the driver in a few years.

What else should i try
