Bug Description

I have:
1. NSO HD797 II (monitor)
2. nVidia GeForce 6600 GT (Asus)

Problems:
1. When i install Ubuntu (i love this os) this OS not detecting my monitor. And OS did for me not correct resolution.
2. I changing resolution in corect 1024x768 and did 85hz refresh rate.
3. I install newest nvidia drivers from OS list.
4. Restart.
5. My lover OS did wrong refresh rate! Amazing. OS did 75hz refresh rate. But monitor and video card can work on 85hz.
6. I go nVIDIA x server settings. And i see my monitor (detected) and refresh rate is auto. Then i changing on 85hz. Accept.
7. Now work perfect. But when i restarting system, ubuntu again not detecting my monitor and did wrong refresh rate on 75hz.
8. nvidia x server settings i try to save xorg.conf file, but my lover system dont do this, not accessible...
9. This is bad. Now i have video card, but i cant use.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please attach your X server configuration file (/etc/X11/xorg.conf) and X server log file (/var/log/Xorg.0.log) to the bug report as individual uncompressed file attachments using the "Attachment:" box below. Could you please also try to run without any /etc/X11/xorg.conf and let Xorg autodetect your display and video card? Please also attach the /var/log/Xorg.0.log from this attempt. Thanks in advance.

Abrius, can you tell me which Ubuntu/Baltix version you are using (you can see version number in /etc/lsb-release file)

I think your nvidia problem is related to bug #219350 - please check what refresh rates are listed in System->Preferences->"Screen Resolution" (Sistema->Nustatymai->"Ekrano raiška" if you are using Lithuanian language).

Btw, if you found any important problems in Ubuntu or Baltix then you can assign the same bug to both distros - Ubuntu and Baltix :)

Thank you very much. But I solved that problem. The problem was with my
hardware and video drivers.
