Gradient background is repeated vertically causing problems with vertical panels

Put a gnome-panel to the left or right and see what happens with most of the themes (not only from bisigi but also ambiance and many others).
The small gradient is repeated vertically over and over again creating a ladder-like effect wich looks really bad.
Right now what I do is edit balanzan/gtk-2.0/panel.rc and comment the line that makes a reference to panel-bg.png.

However, I notice that there's a panel-vertical.rc file there and I wonder why that one is not used instead of panel.rc

Hi,

To have a vertical you just have to change the line 16 in /usr/share/themes/balanzan/gtk-2.0/gtkrc

include "panel.rc"

by

include "panel-vertical.rc"

panel-vertical.rc is not used by default simply because it will give a bad look to vertical panels
