Bake should automatically generate dependency list for the distribution package it builds.

Do you mean Build-Depends in debian/control? Or something like bug 928788?

Or install dependencies? (Should be done by dh_shlibs etc).

I mean build dependencies in debian/control; I agree install dependencies should be handled by dh_shlibs.

This will probably require some cooperation with debhelper.
