automatic backups hang in Kubuntu

Bug Description
I'm using the KDE version in kubuntu 9.10. manual backups work, but automatic backups always hang. the tray icon says "Compare with snapshot xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" but never finishes. when i open the program the take snapshot button is disabled. the snapshot it's trying to perform is not visible.
i killed all the rsync processes (there were several) and the python process, then i could start manual backups again.
in ubuntu 9.10 with the gtk interface this does not happen.

There is a problem with kde4 systray icon plugin.
I has been rewritten for the next version.
