Bug Description

I've been using BiT for almost a year now and it has worked well.

I have the backup frequency set to hourly but would like to have it less frequent, like 2 or 3 hours. I have so many large files to back up that it takes almost 40 minutes to complete a backup. While the backup is being performed my system becomes a little sluggish so I would like to increase the interval of the backups.

Daily backup is no good for me as the laptop is not left on overnight so the daily backup never runs.

We are working on choosing the hour of daily or greater backup. Will this help your issue?

This will help to some point where for a specific backup profile I'd choose the hour of the day for backups that don't need a higher frequency..

But for me I have many large files changing frequently during the day so I need frequent backups during the day. The hourly backup was fine but now sometimes it can take up to 40mins to complete which makes my system a little sluggish during that time. It would be useful if I could perform the backup every two or three hours for example.

If a user definable frequency is too complicated to implement then perhaps an additional predefined option could be provided. E.G. hourly, every 2 hours, every 4 hours, daily, monthly, etc.

backintime uses cron so you can always edit your crontab to customise
the scheduling.
There is a bug in the current release called "Overzealous removal of
crontab entries" which will knock out your custom cron lines, but a
fix for that is coming in the next release.

As for having more hourly options, this will need further discussion.

I'd like to extend the feature request: An option to set a number of minutes in the schedule would be nice. I'm using the beta right now and I'm missing the 30min option.
