2013-12-14 19:40:31 Jon description I am using BiT from the "Stable" repo, Version 1.0.32 on Uubntu 12.04. After the update on 12-09(approx.) I have been having the following issue (note that there was an update yesterday 12-13-13 but the issue is still there) Using BiT as root, no cron jobs are scheduled: I click the "Take Snapshot" button in the GUI, the snapshot starts and the Icon shows in the panel(Unity whitelist set to {all}) The snapshot completes and then the computer is shutdown with the shutdown signal. I HAVE NOT selected the new button that instructs BiT to shutdown the computer when finished but it does anyway, selecting the button also shut down the computer as it should.. ____________________________________ The only way I can prevent BiT form shutting down the computer when the snapshot is finished is to close the GUI window; the snapshot then completes as expected and the computer is not shut down at completion. I have also tried shutting down the GUI and then reopening while the snapshot is in progress, the GUI picks up the running snapshot like it should but will still shut down the computer when completed if the GUI is left open. ______ While this is only a minor annoyance as I can close the GUI while the snapshot is running then open it again if I wish to check or delete any snapshots it would be nice if this can be corrected. One other thought I am saving my snapshots to an external USB HD and according to the activity light on the HD, the disk is still writing from the buffer to the disk when the computer powers off, so I'm not sure that the last part of the snapshot is saved before the disk is powered off. As a result, even if I wanted to start a snapshot and then let the computer shut down after it is completed, I may end up missing a few files form the backup, so I cannot be confident in using this feature.... Could you maybe add a slight, maybe 15-30 sec delay after the snapshot finishes to guarantee the external disks sufficent to finish writing the snapshot from the cashe buffer before losing power. (15 would likely be sufficent). I am not *sure* that the Hd has not finished the snapshot, it *appears* to be complete, but the activity light on the disk does not quit blinking until just a split second(almost to quick to be sure) before the computer powers off......When doing a backup, the light contiues for a few seconds avter BiT says the backup is complete, so I have to assume that it is still writing or at least diong som verification on the written data after BiT finishes.
