2012-04-15 20:20:34 Rüdiger Kupper description If the number of icons displayed in the launcher is too big, icons at the bottom of the launcher are shown in "compressed 3d-view". I believe that this is the wrong place to compress icons. Instead, icons should be compressed at the top of the launcher, or possibly its middle. Reason: The bottom of the launcher displays icons of applications that are currently running. The top/middle of the launcher displays icons that are frequentyl used, but not necessarily running at the time. It can be argued that icons of programs that are known to be actually running need a way to be directly accessed. Icons of programs that are frequently used, but may not be running at the time, are less important compared to those that are known to be running. Icons of actually running programs are displayed at the bottom of the launcher. These should be shown in full size unjder all circumstances. Icons of programms that are often used, but possibly not running at the time, are displayed at the top of the launcher. These may be shown in "compressed 3d-view" in order to save space. A better way may be compress only icons of programs that are not currently running, no matter where they are located in the launcher.
