Bug Description

Should not it be orange like the progress bar in Ambiance? Is pretty simple, they are two different colors for the same action.

And the badge also? (this is different, the badge is an indicator)

Thank you for reporting this bug. This however requires input from the design team. Hence marking this incomplete until further action from the design team.

I'm tempted to close this as "Opinion". Gosh, if Unity's progress bar is going to be orange only for the sake of consistency, it would look *horrible*. And what if you change your GTK theme?

Of course the design of Unity's progress bars can be refines, but making them orange is a very bad idea IMHO.

Badge and progress bar api should be exposed as per the color option. and
the user can customize :). Defualt is the grey. i have no problem with that.

2 example of consistency: The progress bar in OS X and iOS is blue in
the dock and the rest of the system, and all the menu had rounded
corners. In Ubuntu this two examples fail.

On ground of consistency ur arguments are valid. but i agree with Fitoschido because the ambience is just a theme.if u change theme, then according to ur rationale, the color of badge and progress bar should be changed.

I think the consistency in iOS and OS X has to do with apple's own theme which is always consistent in look.
Hopefully we ll solve it in 12.10.

@Roshan: Are all the menus will use rounded corners on 12.10?

@ Contempo which corners? u mean the rounded corner at the top of menu item in the top panel(global menu)? or the bottom corners of the menus?

We use a different style for overlays and system messages:
notifications, dash, launcher etc. In that theme, monochrome is
preferred. Appreciate the report, but this is as intended, not a bug :)

@Roshan: The bottom corners. The launcher use rounded corners. But aplications/indicator menu, use square corners.

@Contempo: the visual output on the menu item of application/indicator is different from that of launcher's quicklist item. by hovering over the quicklist item. the white background is nicely cropped at the end. With this, the rounded corners are possible .But in the app/indicator the orange background is extended to the end. if we want rounded corners, then this is to be fixed together.
