Bug Description
After logging in the mouse cursor is still visible and controllable while the desktop environment loads. However, there is nothing for the mouse to control, and due to the nature of the computer being very busy, moving it is often very sloppy and it jumps around the screen. This makes the experience seem slow and sluggish.
The problem could be solved by not showing the cursor while Unity loads. One could for example leave the wallpeper from the unity-greeter with the dots, and slowly fade it out and reveal the cursor once _everything_ is readily loaded.
Currently I see after logging in,
- first a blank wallpaper withe a useless mouse cursor,
- then launcher and top panel
- then icons
- and finally, after a while, some autostart apps.
This process should be smoother.

Since this involves many parts of the system, not just Unity, it'd be better if you brought this up in the Unity-design mailing list.
