unity launcher unhiding too sensitive, disturbs full screen windows with controls

Hi,

I working with unity 5.0.0 from PPA on Ubuntu 11.10.
Working with full screen windows like Firefox, Terminal, Document Viewer is heavily disturbed by the sensitive unhiding of unity launcher. The following activities are hard to do:

- Terminal: selecting text for copy-and-paste cannot be accessed from left-to-right
- Firefox: hitting back button; using links/actions on multiple sites like google maps
- Document Viewer: opening/closing document structure in the left-side index view

We need a way to enable those actions again.
My idea is to add a wide (10px?) border to the window decorations on the left side or to keep the same amount of space unused on the left side of the screen.
