Area under launcher does not darken under Scale

Bug Description
OS: Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric stable
Application: unity 4.22.0-0ubuntu3

I have my Launcher on Never Hide. Hence, there is a section of the Desktop over which the Launcher rests, which is visible at all times. When activating Scale, the wallpaper naturally darkens to give focus to the windows. However, the region under the Launcher does not darken.
