Wishlist: Please add a Unity Kiosk Mode that hides the Launcher

Bug Description

In some situations, we need a very simple interface with just one application (usually a browser) and the top panel. I know I can hide the launcher but is there a way to actually remove it or at least make it impossible to appear? Another required changes can be done with ccsm but this particular.

Perhaps this feature could be implemented as a small utility app that could be installed by users who need this functionality. Any volunteers to take on such a project?

The other case scenario is Point of Sale where you only need the sale application and nothing else.

@kat-amsterdam; I would have thought shifting the app to full screen mode would be the solution for POS or Kiosk usage.
